We just released our first major design refresh in the last 2 years! I'm very excited about this one. Everything has been reorganized and tweaked just a bit here and there, and it all ads up to a new Osmek that's easier, cleaner, and simpler to use. I hope you enjoy it!
If you use Osmek's contacts & mailing list features and want and easy way to embed a mailinglist sign up form on your site, you can use this embed code to do just that!
Osmek is now at version 2.2.3. Read on for the list of changes.
Osmek, and it's API have been updated to release version 2.2.2. This is a minor release, but since we haven't been in a great habit of documenting changes between releases we'll highlight some of the major ones here. Read on for all the gory details...
Over the weekend we began versioning the Osmek API. This is great news for the growth and stability of our service, and your sites & applications.
Osmek's image interface has always been pretty great for designers. You can specify image sizes to be generated when an image is uploaded, telling osmek to fit the image within a certain width and height, or to crop the image to fit the dimensions exactly. This allows designers to specify exact image settings for different sections of a site, and make sure that the images will fit. You can even pull custom image sizes on the fly by appending an image url with a size setting, for example 100x100x1 would cause the image to be scaled down and cropped to exactly 100x100.
We just added JSONP to the Osmek API, thanks to a user request. You can try it out by directing a request to http://api.osmek.com/feed/jsonp and adding your api_key and section_id to the url.
We're pleased to announce that we have begun using Tenderapp.com for our support needs. You'll notice a new "Support" button in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Please use this if you have questions or problems with your account. Check it out.
Well, I've been hard at work on Osmek for the last month. A lot of the work and updates I've been doing are going on behind the scenes, preparing things for a full on launch, but today I'm happy to tell you about two new features that I hope will enrich your Osmek experience.
Osmek's "Shows" section will now autofill your venue information for you based upon popular venues we have in our system. Just start typing the venue name, and you'll see a list of popular venues appear. The more you use a venue, the more likely it will be that it will show up in the list.
Yesterday I integrated the Media Vault into Osmek's Text Editors. This will allow you to insert any image you have uploaded to Osmek into your posts, and add new ones while writing your post. Simply click the "Insert Image" button in the editor toolbar.
